The Center of Excellence in Information Assurance (COEIA) – King Saud University (KSU) held the first gathering of information security researchers. More than 20 researchers from various governmental, educational, and military sectors attended the gathering. They exchanged academic and research papers besides holding discussions about information security and fighting e-crime as well as information management at the Arab security entities. 

CoEIA director Dr. Khaled Alghathbar gave a brief about the center; its vision, mission, targets, achievements, projects, and the recent updates in the field of information security.
The Center of Excellence in Information Assurance (COEIA) - King Saud University (KSU) is sponsored by the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education with a vision to be an internationally recognized center in the field of information assurance through supporting academic research, knowledge transfer, and providing consultations. Therefore, Dr. Alghathbar explained that the gathering aims to introduce the center to researchers and group them besides investigating ways of cooperation in that sensitive field.
The gathering reflects the role played by CoEIA to promote information security researches and the interrelations between the researchers and other entities whether governmental or private.
