The Center of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA) published a new information security book entitled “Electronic Phishing”. The book, which represents  COEIA  second publication, includes valuable information, techniques, and tips to avoid the threats of internet and to raise the social awareness in a simplified manner.

The book is composed by CoEIA director Dr. Khaled Alghathbar and Dr. Abdul Aziz Alhishah; Manager of Government Service Bus Project. It is also introduced by King Saud University Deputy Dean of Educational & Academic Affairs Dr. Ziyad Othman Alhuqail.  
The book starts with an introduction about the email systems and their importance in modern life. Then, it digs deeper by discussing the components of email system, communication protocols, etc. After that, the book explains the spam emails from which the electronic phishing and its methods are discussed. The book ends by the countermeasures to be taken against electronic phishing and a glossary about the phishing terms.
Dr. Alghathbar explained that the book is distinguished by simplifying the concept of phishing to information security non-specialized readers.
“Electronic Phishing” is available in Al Obeikan Bookstore in paper form and on CoEIA website digitally.
