A workshop in Information Security will be organized at King Saud University by Centre of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA) in Monday 12/11/1429 corresponding 10/11/2008 at the Main hall. A workshop in Information Security will be organized at King Saud University by Centre of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA) in Monday 12/11/1429 corresponding 10/11/2008 at the Main hall. The workshop shall be held under the sponsorship of his Excellency Dr Abdulrahman Bin Ahmed Al-Jafry (The Governor of the Saudi Arabian Communications and Information Technology Communicatiion (CITC) and will be attended by international experts and most of the information assurance professionals and most of the IT managers in the government. The Workshop speakers are renowned scholars in the information assurance area: Dr. Norbik Bin Idris, professor at university of technology Malaysia and the Technology Director of SCAN Associates, Dr. Mustaque Ahamad, Professor at at Georgia Tech and the Director of Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC), Dr. Corey D. Schou, Professor at Idaho State University and the founding director of the Informatics Research Institute and the National Information Assurance Training and Education Center (NIATEC), Dr.Gene Spafford, Professor at Purdue University, and the founder and Executive Director of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security. In addition to the above mentioned renowned names, there will be Professional Saudi speakers as well: Dr. Fahad A. Al Hoymany, MCIT's Senior Advisor for IT, General Supervisor of the IT department, and head of the National Center for Digital Certification, Eng. Abdulrhman Alfreh, The General Manager of the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-SA). Furthermore, In addition, the workshop will be covered by the media representatives are invited. As well the expected attendance is around 800 hundreds participants all over the kingdom. In addition, the workshop will be covered by the media representatives are invited. The director of the Centre of Excellency in Information Assurance Dr Khalid Alghathbar pointed out that the expected attendance are around 800 hundreds participants all over the kingdom due to the need and the importance of the workshop which organized by the Centre of Excellence of Information Assurance that considered to be the pioneer in the Middle East. Furthermore, Dr. Khalid Alghathber added that this event will create the platform and opportunity to promote information security awareness and provides opportunity for professionals to interact with internationally renowned experts. So I argue professional and interest people to not miss this novel and exciting international event. Furthermore, Dr. Khalid Alghathbar emphasizes that the above mentioned workshop is one of hundreds of activities that organized during the last three years in King Saud University under supervision of his Excellency Professor Abdullah bin Abdurrahman Al Othman, King Saud University Rector.
