"Kerdock & Preparata: Related Codes & their Applications" Lecture |

Under the initiatives of the Centre of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA) to support scientific research and transfer both experience and knowledge, the center held a lecture entitled "Kerdock & Preparata: Related Codes & Applications" on Sunday April 4, 2010. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Kanat Abdul khalikov from the Department of Mathematics – University of Imam Muhammad bin Saud.
Dr. Abdul Khalikov highlighted the nonlinear methods of coding and their applications in practical life. The lecture was attended by teaching staff and information security researchers from Saudi universities. The lecture witnessed also towards the end a discussion of the main challenges and solutions.
The Center of Excellence in Information Assurance is one of the distinguished research centers funded by the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education. The center is located in King Saud University due to the success factors it enjoys namely a site close to the beneficiaries, the diversity of disciplines, and most importantly the existence of a distinct staff specialized in information security who might not be available in another university. CoEIA vision is to be a globally recognized information security center and regionally to be the primary source of expertise in this area. Its mission is to prepare researchers and professionals who excel in the field of information security to exchange knowledge and experience besides discovering the potential risks and providing effective solutions.
